I think that is disgraceful and shameful. And when the taxi did drop me off at the airport it came up to 17 Euros a BIG DIFFERENCE from 45 Euros Hotel Ariston in Milan tells their guests it would cost for them to call the car service they do business with. The hotel could not even provide a courtesy call to a taxi company for their guests, and then had the nerve to want to charge me. I told him forget it, and then I walked a couple blocks for the taxi service company. I asked him what that receipt was for, and he said for the phone call to the Taxi Service. Well, the receptionist proceeded to prepare a receipt for 3 Euros. The morning that I checked out, I asked the male receptionist to call one of the taxi services I had spoken to before to come and pick me up from the hotel. I decided to get my own taxi based on the prices I was quoted from the taxi drivers. Although, the hotel does make it clear that it is a fixed price, it seems a little deceptive to me, in a way that gives the unsuspecting guest, foreigner, visitor to the country for the first time, the impression that 45 Euros is perhaps the standard amount or at least a close amount for what the taxi ride would cost from the hotel to the airport. When I told the female hotel receptionist this, she said the taxi usually charges more than that.
HOTEL ARISTON MILAN DRIVERS
When I inquiredįurther with actual taxi drivers in the Duomo area of Milan not that farįrom the hotel, they told me it would cost between 15 to 20 Euros. If the guest needs to be dropped off at the airport. What I did not like about Hotel Ariston is that they charge their guestsĤ5 Euros as a fixed price with the taxi service they do business with, I also liked that one of the workers stopped what he was doing from his busy work schedule to assist me with the hotel computer. The one in Rome charged me 9 Euros for state tax fees. Tax fees during check out, like their sister branch Hotel Ariston in I liked that Hotel Ariston in Milan did not charge their guests state So wake up Ariston! These things matter to the customer. Nobody wants to start a holiday break with a discussion with reception about the quality of the room. While there was no difficulty changing to a better room it seemed to us that there was little consideration for the customer, i.e., the hotel was half empty and they could have put us in a decent room at the outset and saved us the inconvenience of having to look for a better room. We were given a very poor room initially - cramped, worn, no decoration as such. The hotel has little or no character - a high rise that could be anywhere in the world. But then everything seems to be dearer in Italy. Street noise is a major issue as tram lines run past the front door Also the 10.30 finish is useful if you need a lie in. Location is super with easy access on foot to all the major sights.īreakfast was generous with a good selection of food.
